The Office of Financial Aid cannot share student account information with parents or guardians without written consent from the student (in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, also known as FERPA).

Rutgers Financial Aid Award Notifications

Once your financial aid is packaged, you will receive an email with instructions on how to view your Financial Aid Awards. Notifications will be sent as incoming students who file the FAFSA before the priority filing deadline are packaged. Look for an email or visit this page to access your Rutgers Financial Aid Awards.

Submitting Verification Documents

Rutgers may need to verify some of the information you input on the FAFSA. If you need to submit additional documents, you will receive an email notification. Awards cannot be finalized until all requested documents are submitted and reviewed.

Applying for Financial Aid

The first step in applying for financial aid is to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To complete he 2025-2026 FAFSA to studentaid.gov/FAFSA.

File the FAFSA

Be sure to enter Rutgers Federal School Code (002629) on the FAFSA so your information is sent to the Rutgers Office of Financial Aid.

Priority Filing Deadline

The FAFSA priority filing deadline for incoming students is February 1, 2025. Filing the FAFSA before this date ensures that you are considered for all available funding at Rutgers.
