- Contact the agency you are interested in to schedule a job interview.
- If you are offered a job, contact the Student Employment Office on your campus and provide the name of the agency and the job you have been hired for.
- You must receive authorization from the Student Employment Office and be registered in the Rutgers payroll system before you can begin working.
GARDNER A. SAGE LIBRARY AT NEW BRUNSWICK THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY

Library Assistant: $17.25/hr
Assist patrons in locating materials in the library and retreiving books from all 3 floors. Provides direct service to library patrons by staffing the Circulation Desk. Check in/out library materials, renews books. Provides account information and issues new library cards. Scans library materials to support library services and preservation/digitization. Shelves and organizes library materials. Answers directional and technical questions from patrons. Assists students in finding course reserve material.
GREATER NEWARK CONSERVANCY

Farm Stand Intern: $17.25/hr
Greater Newark Conservancy operates a mobile farm stand that sells fresh, Newark-grown produce and other products to residents throughout Newark. Individuals in this position will be expected to work with the Farm Stand Coordinator to plan and execute every aspect of Farm Stand business operations, from food harvesting and processing to food selling and donation. Applicants for this position should be interested in improving food access and engaging community members in healthy eating and lifestyle choices.
Urban Farming Intern: $17.25/hr
Greater Newark Conservancy manages the Hawthorne Avenue Farm (HAF), a 2.5-acre farm located in the South Ward of Newark. The HAF is home to over 70 production rows, more than 15 raised beds, an orchard, and a 200-bed community garden. Individuals in this position will be expected to work with our Farmer to maintain the site and assist with food production and harvesting. Applicants should also be willing to work with the Farmer and other staff to develop and execute programs that engage the community. Applicants for this position should be interested in urban agriculture and must feel comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.
Horticulture Intern: $17.25/hr
Greater Newark Conservancy maintains an Outdoor Learning Center (OLC) at its main office site. Individuals in this position will work with the Landscape Supervisor and Education staff to plan and maintain the various garden spaces in the OLC. Individuals will also learn to operate and maintain a newly installed food-producing hydroponic system. Applicants for this position should be interested in gardening and must feel comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.

Duties include lead/assist with group activities such as songs, arts and crafts, storytelling and games. Plan, prepare and teach assign projects under guidance of YMCA staff. Properly supervise children in all assigned activities. Help with maintaining discipline and cooperation among the children. Maintain safety and general upkeep of room. Assure that daily paperwork is completed. Communicate with parents. Perform other job duties as requested. Ability to speak Spanish is helpful. The Courthouse is located very close to a Rutgers bus stop.

Convey good health and fitness habits to youth through exercise, fitness, and sports. Assist students with improving their sports and fitness skills using various equipment. Teach children and work with staff to see that student and YMCA goals are met. Properly supervise children in assigned activities in accordance with YMCA rules. Communicate with parents on progress and needs of child. Maintain cleanliness in areas used by students. Manage risk with good safety practices and control.
Fitness Attendant/Instructor: $17.25/hr
Monitor fitness center and free weight room. Assist clients with equipment and demonstrate proper technique on all strength training and cardiovascular machines. Promote YMCA through personal example and member interaction. Maintain a clean, safe and neat working environment. Attend staff meetings and YMCA trainings. Give facility tours. Assist front desk staff with youth programs. Perform other duties as requested and necessary.
Swim Instructor/Swim Aide: $17.25/hr
Swim Instructor teaches children to swim using YMCA national program and guidelines. Swim Aide assists lead instructor student(s) with improving student swim skills/strokes. Teach children and work with staff to see that student and YMCA goals are met. Properly supervise children in water, relaying and enforcing safety regulations. Communicate with lead instructor or supervisor on progress and needs of child. Convey good health and fitness habits to youth through swimming. Manage risk with good safety practices and control.
Swim Team Coach: $17.25/hr
Coach a swim team group per YMCA national program and guidelines. Assists head coach with improving student swim skills/strokes. Assists head coach with meet entries and swim team logistics. Properly supervise child(ren) in water, on deck and in enforcing safety regulations. Communicate with head or co-coaches on progress and needs of child. Convey good health and fitness habits to youth through swimming. Manage risk with good safety practices and control. Interface with parents.
Front Desk Sales Associate: $17.25/hr
Work at YMCA front desk welcome center greeting members and guests and monitoring their scan in process to assure membership. Bring creative resources to YMCA to make flyers, newsletters, charts, graphs, etc. Oral and written communication with members. Give facility tours. Take program enrollments using YMCA point of sale computer program. Review and research documents or information and prepare responses and reports. Maintain cleanliness of work areas.
RARITAN VALLEY YMCA – TUTORING

Work one-on-one with 1-3 children who need help with their math and reading homework. Practice with students the skills that they are deficient in such as reading, writing or math.
